I love my wife, I especially love it when she does things for me (as I have talked about in a previous blog). One thing my wife does really well is cook. By her own admission she will never be a famous chef, but in my mind she is number one. Em’s feature style is doing boring old meals and making them fantastic. They aren’t fancy, but my goodness they are tasty and filling. She has mastered what I would call ‘everyday dinner’ and then twisted it to have her own style.

Take for example this epic steak sandwich she made me a few weeks ago:

Now I am a fairly simple man when it comes to food, I would be happy if she served me plain steak one night and straight chicken the next, roast lamb, roast pork, sausages, chops, no veges, no rice required (they are a nice bonus, but not fussed if they don’t appear). If she did this every night and repeated again week after week I would be satisfied. I don’t need pork belly, Ribeye fillet steaks, fancy vegetable from asia, etc, I just don’t need it, Em cooks exactly what I need and I love her for it.

Her newest foray has been into the world of desserts: cookies, ice-cream slice, cheesecakes, muffins, etc. Now this stuff, I could eat a truckload of this stuff. Again it doesn’t need to be fancy, in fact most of it is simple enough that i could make it, but again, my goodness does she nail making dessert too.

So today I just wanted to tell you all how much I love my wife for her baking and cooking.

because without her I am nothing.
